EMTUSA creates a top-up system via the internet
The system will allow citizens to top up their citizen cards and public transport cards via the internet using the BusGijón website.
The Municipal Company for Urban Transport of Gijón (EMTUSA) has set up this new system. In order to access this service you only have to log on to the link "Recargas Internet" in the website www.busgijon.es and through a simple menu users can select the type of card they wish to top up by introducing the card number.
After selecting the total amount you introduce your payment card details. Once the payment has been done through the internet users will have to activate the toped-up card using a Citizen Cashpoint.
Citizen Cashpoints have the capacity to update cards and activate them by using the approrpiate option called "Recarga Tarjeta Ciudadana y Transporte". This is a safe and easy operation wich can be accessed by all citizens. This is complementary to the net of businesses spread out all over the city which also offer this service.
