    You need only climb up to Santa Catalina Headland, above the old fishing quarter, to realize the grandeur of the setting in which Gijón is nestled. From there, the whole city, the entire coastline of the borough with its cliffs and beaches, and the high mountains further inland can be made out all the way to the Picos de Europa.
